The Way A Company Trade Show Should Be – X06

September 28, 2006 · Leave a Comment

For those who don’t like reading things like gaming websites, blogs, etc., I have news for you: Microsoft’s X06 has started. Needless to say, I am enthused, as MS will no doubt take advantage of the sucktastic PS3 offerings at TGS. In fact, this bombardment of goodness for my shiny white console has already begun. First of all, Assassin’s Creed. My game of the year 07 already, there is now even more proof to back up that statement. That proof comes in the form of a live demo shown at this morning’s press conference. If you feel like watching the deliciousness, visit this page.

Moving right along, MS also announced not one but two new titles in the Halo franchise. That would be Halo Wars and a yet-to-be-named Halo franchise from Peter Jackson (you know, the guy who was fat and made a few good movies then got skinny and made a really long one about a giant monkey. Yeah, that guy). Halo Wars looks promising and I honestly don’t care about Peter’s Halo opus just yet, as I haven’t seen anything.

Yet another good announcement is that the HD DVD addon will have an MSRP of $199.99 here in the states, and actually include the HD DVD of the aforementioned monkey movie. Will I buy it? Probably. Will I watch Kong on it? Heh, it’s free right? Might as well…

Guitar Hero II will be coming for the 360. This time, we get an absolutely insane wireless Explorer (or X-Plorer as they put it). As long as I can download some Coheed, I will buy it the day it comes out. Check out the guitar on Kotaku.

In other little news from the conference, Doom (or DooM…or DOOM…I don’t know) is now on Live. You can play 4 player co-op, surround sound, blah, blah, blah. I don’t like Doom. I said it.  GTA IV will also have two “epic episodes” as the slide put it, which should be good…let’s just hope they make this one pretty and fix that whole “same thing, new package” issue. It really is plaguing the series as of late (see GTA: Vice City Stories). Banjo-Kazooie 3 is going to be on the 360, twenty bucks says Rare screws up again. Bioshock and Splinter Cell 5 both exclusives. That’s about it.

If you want the whole liveblogged conference check out Joystiq. That’s it for me…actually, be sure to check out my Army of Two preview up now on CS. That is all.

Nintendo Wii – 19.11.2006

September 15, 2006 · Leave a Comment

It is now official. The Nintendo Wii will be released November 19th, 2006 at $249.99. And I for one, cannot wait. Now I just need to convince family and friends to buy me one, or scrounge up $250 for it. I think I will try the former.

How to be a Pirate!

September 2, 2006 · Leave a Comment

It seems like the newest internet trend is piracy. And why not? Everyone loves pirates. With their pillaging and plundering of the towns, large ships, and steady stream of rum and gold, what’s not to love? However, I will not be talking about that kind of Pirating in this here blog post. No, I will instead teach you how to be an Intarweb Pirate! This means FREE STUFF! Everybody loves free stuff. Let’s get it on.

Step 1: Watch this video:

Now, if that doesn’t make you want to be a pirate, nothing will. Leave this blog now. If you, like a normal person, still wish to be a pirate, continue on my swashbuckling friend.

Step 2: Get file sharing software

Most pirates these days use what’s known as Bittorrent. But why use that protocol? Nope, instead you should use the classic: Kaazaa. And just like pirates, you shouldn’t use a modified one, so you can get all the sick nastiness from it. I mean, all pirates had some disease, right? Consider this your scurvy, if you will.

Step 3: Get a pirate name

Use this site for your very own pirate name. Use it on all the forums, download sites and other places you may visit. Also, tell all your friends to call you by this name. It helps your “pirate cred”. Trust me.
Step 4: DOWNLOAD.

A lot. Like, everything. Download anything and everything you’ve ever thought you wanted. In fact, even if you don’t like what you are downloading, get it anyway. Why? Because you can, fool.

Step 5: Get caught and hanged (optional)

This step is one no pirate wishes to face; when you finally get caught. The RIAA and the MPAA will no doubt be your downfall. With their crazy, lunatic-esque ways, its a wonder they even have the support of anyone these days. But mentally stable or not, they want you in bars. And you will be. And they might hang you. Though this has yet to happen. But who knows, maybe you will be the first. What an honor.

Yes, that’s all it takes kids. 5 steps to Piratedom. I know that you want to get out their and start being a pirate, so please, go now. Free stuff awaits.

(Note: I don’t actually want you to steal anything. This is merely a humorous blog post for the sake of humor. Support your artists/filmmakers/local dairy farm. Don’t sue me.)

Assassin’s Creed confirmed for 360

September 2, 2006 · Leave a Comment

As if a three-day weekend wasn’t good enough, Ubisoft has just confirmed that Assassin’s Creed, my game of E3 06, will be coming to the Xbox 360 — the same day it does for PS3. Take that Sony! I can’t wait for this one, as the trailers have looked amazing. Should be a good time. And for those who don’t know of it, here is the E3 2006 trailer for your enjoyment:
